I absolutely loved this hotel - this was my favourite of all 8 of our hotels throughout Europe! The room was very spacious with plenty of room for luggage, clothes etc. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows were fantastic. It was clean and had everything we needed. I loved the quirky decor - we had a large painted mural of 3 female singers in purple on our wall which I loved - and yes I did get a pic of me singing with them! I kept a lookout for all the artwork throughout the hotel and really enjoyed finding them. Unique point of difference with this hotel - they had an outdoor terrace on the 5th floor where I could smoke without having to loiter outside on the street. This would be a lovely spot just to sit and get some fresh air - you can go outside without leaving the hotel! The staff were friendly and helpful and gave us a map and showed us the places we wanted to visit. The location is fantastic and within walking distance of all the attractions we wanted to see. Fantastic value for money - we got a great price through Booking.com.

Everything was good, and the incorporation of theme was an excellent idea (it wasn't cause for a downcheck, but I notice a lot of things, and the mime signs on the floors were cluing to a different numbered floor - for example, I think the mime was in a figure 4 shape for the floor number 3, and when I checked, some of the others seemed similarly confused). I personally prefer oatmeal for breakfast, and didn't get it anywhere in Europe. We also like having washcloths, and hadn't gotten the news that Europe doesn't believe in them (you had hand towels, which worked fine - again, it was all good). And, I prefer a separate bed sheet from the sheet-wrapped quilt, and didn't find that anywhere but in one of a dozen hotels in Europe.

The hotel is very centrally located, only half minute walking to the Plaza de Canalejas. It is on walking distance of the Plaza del Sol and the Plaza Mayor and 15 minutes walking to the long and vibrant shopping street Gran Via. The shopping area in Madrid is big and in walking distance of the hotel. Most of the highlights are walkable. From the airport Bus 203 leads to the station (Plaze de) Cibeles: the hotel is 15 minutes walking from there via Gran Via and then Calle de Alcala. There are lots of restaurants in the area. Hotel room space was standard, breakfast was good and enough. The Madrid Hop on Hop Off is a good way to have a first look at the touristic attractions.

This hotel is in a great spot- you can walk to cafes, restaurants, bars, the lovely Plaza Santa Ana, Prado, metro stop Sol It’s lively at night- yet quiet inside. They do a generous breakfast (I’m vegan- not much for me but coffee). All the staff I spoke with were great: Veronica😻, Toño😻! The rooms each have unique and dramatic decor. I will return- my second stay at this place. Try the coffee shops and bars on the same street, some are like time travel like La Venecia, or a mix of new and old Viva Madrid, and great vegan food on the next block at Artemesia. I loved the Rústico coffee shop a couple doors down.

Any staff we encountered were extremely helpful (especially the Syrian guy on reception whose name I can't remember). The hotels location is perfect, in the thick of shopping, restaurants and bars but on an alleyway so not noisy. The room had plenty of space and character and the Rituals toiletries in the bathroom felt luxurious. The breakfast was nice and the rooftop terrace was a luxury. It's not a fancy hotel with a lobby to lounge in but for what it is, it's really great, and very good value. It exceeded my expectations.
